HOW TO PUT A WIG?

• A nylon or mesh wig cap
• A wig comb

• Smoothen your natural hair and flatten it using bobby pins, especially if it’s a bit long

• Gather your natural hair in a wig cap so you’ll have a smooth scalp surface

• Adjust the straps inside the wig, bring the front of your wig to the hairline and pull it back

• Place the sides of the wig on your temples so it’s perfectly flat and concealed with your hairline, without covering the ears

• Style it as you wish with a comb
TAKING CARE OF YOUR WIG
No matter which type of wig you choose (synthetic or human hair), both require good care with the use of the right products. In order for you to enjoy your wig for the longest possible, it needs to be carefully maintained to constantly create a natural shiny look and soft feel of hair.
Whichever fibre material wig you opt for, there are some basic rules to follow, as these can really make a difference!
Whether you have a synthetic wig or a human hair wig, do not rub it against a towel to dry it and do not brush/comb it while wet!
Synthetic wigs
- Clean it regularly (weekly)
- Use specialised shampoos, balms & conditioners
- When washed, leave it to dry naturally on a wig stand
- without a hairdryer or scrubbing it to a towel
- brush or comb it carefully only when fully dry
- Never expose it to open fires, steam, boiling water or spotlights
Human hair wigs
- Clean it regularly (weekly)
- Use specialised shampoos, balms & conditioners before washing it, comb the wig gently by using a metal wig comb with rounded tips
- After washing, towel dry it gently to remove excess water & let it dry naturally on a wig stand for fast drying use a hairdryer or a straightener at medium heat
- Be careful when exposed to heat, open fires or spotlights
PICKING THE RIGHT WIG SIZE
Most wigs come with an adjustable strip so you can adjust it securely to your head, but it’s always beneficial to know exactly the size of your head before purchasing a wig. Purchasing the right wig requires some good preparation, not just for a perfect fit but also for absolute comfort. Whether it’s for fashion or to cover the side effects of chemotherapy, you will be wearing your wig for long hours. To get an idea of the wig size you’ll need, you can do it in the comfort of your home. You only need a measuring tape! But before, make sure your natural hair is flattened.
